We urgently need Volunteers
Since 1945, the vast majority of the British people have enjoyed relative peace.
However, the men and women of our armed forces have been in the front line defending Britain's interests in many operational theatres such as India, Palestine, Malaya, Korea, Suez Canal Zone, Kenya, Cyprus, Suez 1956, Borneo, Indonesia, Aden, Radfan, Oman, Dhofar, the Falklands War, two Gulf Wars, Bosnia, Kosovo, Sierra Leone, Iraq and Afghanistan.
Closer to home, many thousands of serving personnel have been involved in operations during the thirty year long terrorist campaign in Northern Ireland.
All of these conflicts, without exception have come at a heavy price, and have resulted in casualties to our serving military personnel, some fatal, some physically and or, mentally debilitating, and for many of those who have been affected, the associated effects and problems may take years, or even decades to surface.
It is not only the serving personnel that need our help, it is also their families, whether it is a wife, son, daughter or, mother, we are here to help.
We give a lifetime time of support to the Families of those that sacrificed their lives or suffered horrendous injuries in the defence of their Country.
This is why we need your support and help; we cannot do it without you.
We urgently need Volunteers
With the ever increasing demand for SSAFA services we have an urgent need of people just like you.
SSAFA has been supporting British military personnel and their families since 1885, and it is people like you that has given the longevity to the charity and, helped to raise and distribute millions of pounds to those that need it the most.
Without volunteers, this great charity that helped and still helps thousand of people every year would not have survived for 125 years.
Without people just like you, willing to give their time to help Serving, Ex Service men, women and their Families; it is possible, that without volunteers, those that need us most will not get the timely support they need.
